Work Experience Program
Referred high school students with learning challenges receive one-on-one job skills development from experienced Discover Goodwill staff who help prepare students for competitive employment upon graduation. This program is also targeted to adults who meet Federal poverty guidelines.
Work Experience promotes:
- Attendance and punctuality
- Proficient work quality and quantity
- Attention to detail
- Communication skills
- Work stamina and tolerance
Discover Goodwill offers students paid, hands-on work experience at a Goodwill work site allowing them opportunities to learn and perfect proper work behaviors. As students encounter new experiences and challenges, caring staff is available to answer questions and address concerns. Goodwill staff work closely with the student, students’ teachers and family members to ensure success.
Upon graduation, students are prepared and excited to move into competitive employment with Goodwill or in the community.
